Mamma Mia, It’s the Winter Arts Faire

November 01, 2018

Ketchikan has a myriad of fun and fabulous events for our guest’s consideration this month, and two of our favorites are listed here. First, don’t miss the bright and charming musical “Mamma Mia” presented by the First City Players on November 2-11 at the Kayhi Auditorium. For tickets and details, call (907) 225-4792. Next, join us at the Saxman Community Center on November 24-25 for the holiday event of the winter season, the Winter Arts Faire.

Presented by the Ketchikan Arts & Humanities Council, the Faire will showcase more than 80 artists and craftspersons with such fabulous gift items as jewelry, quilts, bags, dishes, ornaments, syrups and jams, baked goods, and works by local photographers and artists. Kids can have a ball in the crafts room while the grownups browse, sip hot beverages, and nibble on pastries. Photographer Charley Starr will be on hand for family photos, and don’t forget to snag your tickets to 2019’s Wearable Arts Show before they’re all sold out! A gala opening reception will be held on November 23, with live music, a no-host bar, and appetizers. Call (907) 225-2211 for details.
