A Wonderful Winter Tradition

December 03, 2018

Every December, the folks in Ketchikan anticipate the celebration of many holiday traditions, and one of our favorites is the annual Winter Art Walk. In addition to a yearly spring walk near the first of May, this event is sponsored by the Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council and is always held the first Friday in December. The art walk is a terrific opportunity to see the latest work by local and regional artists, visit with friends and neighbors, and celebrate the joys of the season.

Stroll and browse through 21 participating galleries, museums, and shops for artists and artisan-crafted gifts made in Alaska as you sip and savor free refreshments. In addition to art, you can shop for such items as jewelry, soaps, pet products, birch utensils, gourmet edibles, sui generis wearables and accessories, hand-painted ornaments, candles, books, and more. Note: fans of jazz trumpet will want to stop by the Creek Street Cabaret for their 2nd Annual Tribute to Chet Baker concert. So, grab your holiday gift list, bundle up, and join us on December 7 for a fun and frosty evening on the town.

Thank You
