A Dynamic Duo of Arts and Fun

January 07, 2019

This month, the city of Ketchikan offers our visitors and guests a variety of fun and interesting activities from which to choose, and two of our favorites are listed here. First, head over to the Main Street Gallery for a curated exhibit featuring the art of one of the founders of Ketchikan’s Arts and Crafts Guild. “Cleo Weston - A Retrospective: 1930-2010” will be shown from January 5-25, and honors her art, her life, and her impact on other artists and the community.

Next, get ready for one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the year on January 31 – February 2, when the 33rd Annual Wearable Arts Show begins at the Ted Ferry Civic Center. This year’s theme is “Circus of Curiosities,” and features original wearable art created from an amazing variety of materials. The runway show is a spectacular combination of theatrics, dance, engineering, music, fashion, and magic! This unforgettable event features both gala performances and family-friendly matinees and is always a sellout, so snag your tickets soon!
